Hi, I’m Jim. I am a married man in my thirties. Towards the end of my adolescence, I began to snore. It was not really a problem during my college years, but things changed quickly when I got married.

1. I raised my head with a pillow. I did not use any pillow, but a firm pillow. A pillow too soft makes your muscles relax too much, which narrowed my airways.

2. I stopped drinking alcohol and smoking. Drink makes the muscles in the neck relax too much, which blocks the airways. I discovered that smoking inflames the tissues of the respiratory tract.

3. As I mentioned, I love milk and ice cream. However, I started to avoid certain foods at least one hour before going to bed.

4. I decided to lose weight. I was suffering from overweight and I was not in shape, and it does not leave much space for my airways. I started training.

5. I started sleeping on my side as often as possible. Someone told me that if I sew something uncomfortable on the back of my t-shirt, like a tennis ball, it would help me sleep on my side. Most people who snore, do lying on their backs.

6. I started going to bed at regular times. Before I went to bed at midnight, and the next day at 2am. I tried to take the habit of sleeping at the same time and wake me up at the same time.

7. The honey also helped me reduce my snoring. The sugar in honey is good for us and helps to lubricate the throat.

8. I tried not to eat large meals just before going to bed. I discovered that if I had a lot of food in my stomach, there was more pressure on my diaphragm, which prevented me from breathing properly.

9. I also tried to avoid foods rich in fat. The ice cream, desserts are very sweet. I love them, but I reduced my intake.

These 9 tips helped me avoid my snoring.
